Hash Trash Run 878, Directions to Run 879

Hello fellow hashers!
We met at the 'clock tower' in Askelon, Ashdod or however you want to pronounce it. However, it was not so much a clock tower as a cock tower thanks to the fact it had no clock and was topped by a cock.
The most memorable feature of whichever-forgotten-town-we-were-in was dog poop. Grave Robber gallantly led the pack through sand dunes notwithstanding his considerable handicap (aka stoller with big kid).
Throughout the afternoon there was a lot of talk about pee, actually peeing, being busted peeing and drinking pee (or whatever the hell that beggars beer was for the down downs).
The scribe kindly suggests that both Deliverance and Pepe La Puke invest in a wonderful new apparatus to save the local police and the hash hounds, respectively, copping an eyeful.

Quiz Night, Friday, Feb. 4th
 
Quiz Night is not Friday, Feb. 1, it is Feb. 4th.  It will take place at Gavin Francis and Sabrina Henzler's home in Herzliya Pituach.  It will start promptly at 7 so we recommend that you come around 6:30 in order to socialize and have some snacks and drinks.  Be sure and bring some snacks to share and bring your own beverages. (don't be cheap - make it the good stuff)! 
 
The address is 31 Galei Tkelet, Herzliya Pituach.  From Tel Aviv: take Highway 2 to the Kfar Shmaryahu exit.  Make a left onto Keren HaYessod and continue straight through 2 roundabouts.  At the end of keren HaYessod you will see a "T".  Make a left and park on the street.

Hash Trash Run 877, Directions to Run 878

Hello fellow hashers!
Jerusalem was cold and damp but the hares set a lovely trail through the streets and parks in Jerusalem. Singing in the Rain was sung at the halfway and then we were off again to finish the run. 
A wonderful Italian Feast was served by the Hares at their apartment and a good time was had by all. The beer was stolen by Stiff Meat and hijacked to Ashdod. 
We discovered that we will be wishing a fond farewell to Pigwoman (temporary or permanent? - we are not at liberty to disclose). She is off to Jordan for the forseeable future.

Directions to Run 878:
Meeting time: Saturday, 15:00, 1500hr, 3pm.
Location: Ashdod! The hash is visiting the city that boasts lights, lust and love. (or maybe just some sand, tall grey buildings and a hasher or two)
Directions: From Tel Aviv -
  • Ashdod Interchange onto Route 41 and follow it in on Derech Nir Galim, which becomes Derech Tel Mor, which then becomes Derech Laskov
  • At the roundabout (that's a traffic circle for non-UK hashers) 1st exit onto Ort, then next roundabout 1st exit onto Yefe Nof and then onto Ha Tayelet
  • Straight on at the next roundabout staying on Ha Tayelet
  • Turn into parking area, under the clock tower.

Subject: Knäck (fudge)
Greetings hashers.
If you remember on New Year's Hash; Pippi Longcocking from Stockholm Hash provided some almond toffee in small paper cups. She has lost the email to send the recipe to, so here it is. I expect a quality control test at the next circle :)
(If using the paper cups that pippi used, or something else, put them out before you start)
    1. 10 cc chopped almonds
    2. 20 cc sugar
    3. 20 cc whipping cream (double cream)
    4. 20 cc light syrup (treacle)
    • Blend sugar, whipping cream and syrup in a pan with thick base, Boil and stir til the fudge is getting chewy (122oC) takes around 15 - 45 min.
    • Could also do a test to check if it's done: Take some of the fudge and drop in cold water, if you can make a small ball its ok.
    • Then put in the chopped almonds and pour the fudge in the paper cups or what you are using.
    • IF you are using small cups; keep the pan on a low heat, otherwise by the time you have filled all the cups, the rest of the fudge in the pan will have gone hard and you might need to buy a new pan!

He was (and still is) buried under a pile of anatomy Slides and pictures of labeled body-parts, and thus was unable to attend last Saturday's Hash.
You can blame the Mrs. for not reporting back with details. I sure did.

Meeting time: Saturday, 15:00, 1500hr, 3pm.
Location: Starting point for the run the parking lot at the very end of HaGdud HaIvri Street. Jerusalem being very hilly, the best way to describe this is down the hill from the Jerusalem Theater.
PLEASE NOTE: All are invited to an On-On at Boston Creamed and Just Jonathan's house after the run.

Directions: From the ICC - Binyanei Ha'uma Convention Center after the Harp Bridge ("Caveman's Erection") at the entrance to Jerusalem:
  1. Head north on Yosef Herlits toward Sderot Shazar
  2. Bear right onto Sderot Shazar  - the Gan Sacher park will be to your right the whole way
  3. Continue - street name changes to Sderot Ben Tsvi
  4. Continue - street name changes to Sderot Hayim Hazaz
  5. At the intersection, continue straight uphill on Tchernichovsky St.
  6. Turn left onto HaPalmach St.
  7. Turn right at HaGdud Haivri
  8. Go straight through the roundabout - the street dead-ends into a parking lot where your Hares will be waiting.
